JE Dunn completed construction on a new health complex in Minot, ND, including a 550,000 square foot hospital and 186,000 square foot medical office building. The 167-bed replacement hospital and MOB are each six floors, with an additional 110,000 square feet of parking below grade to accommodate 290 cars.
As the third contractor engaged on the project, JE Dunn took over preconstruction services for the hospital and MOB interior packages. We worked with the hospital to determine what gaps and overlaps existed in the various bid packages and how to fill them, and worked with the State Department of Health to respond to questions and eliminate unknowns prior to finalizing the budget and beginning construction. JE Dunn also took over construction of the core and shell mid-project, renegotiating all scopes of work to the benefit and protection of the hospital and completing a comprehensive quality, safety, and constructability review of the work in place and work planned to help the client establish a final budget.
