JE Dunn spent more than two years at Georgia-Pacific’s Darlington, South Carolina plant, where Dixie plates are manufactured. This work, split into two projects, added production capacity, both within the existing plant and in a new addition.
The first project on the Darlington campus was a nearly 292,000 SF safe quality foods (SQF) certified expansion, including a new finished goods warehouse. The existing trim duct system was upgraded to support the plant’s increased capacity.
Within the existing plant, JE Dunn provided extensive upgrades. JE Dunn renovated the north half of the facility to accommodate a longer, taller printer and a new in-floor conveyor system. The roof over the existing printer area was demolished and raised 15-20 feet to accommodate the new machinery. Thanks to close coordination with our roofing trade partner, the building remained watertight throughout construction.
