The last four months have been some of the most challenging; not only for the construction industry, but also for the country as a whole. There was no experience to rely on or proven steps to take when the COVID-19 pandemic began spreading quickly and shut down jobsites and cities nationwide. As builders, we’re used to defined processes and methods to achieve desired results, so this was—and remains-- new territory for all of us. Our main objective, though, stayed steady from the beginning of the crisis to today, and that is the safety of our employees and others on and around our jobsites. It requires collaboration, creative thinking, and putting people first–all the attributes that reflect our commitment to remaining a trusted partner.
Though the situation is still evolving daily, our resolve remains strong, and I am extremely proud of the way our people continue to step up to the challenge to help clients and partners navigate the changing environment together. From altering site plans to completing projects in unconventional ways, our teams are uniting to help clients and communities in the face of uncertainty. The crisis has pushed us to be better, more innovative, and collaborate in new ways, and I believe our industry will be better for it in the long run. —Gordon Lansford, CEO
