It was an evening filled with pink for the JE Dunn Charlotte office and families as we joined Carolina Breast Friends for the 7th Annual Pink in the Rink event. Pink in the Rink is put on by the Charlotte Checkers in support of breast cancer survivors throughout the region. For this event, the ice in the rink is turned pink, the players are adorned in pink jerseys, and the stands are filled with a sea of spectators wearing ribbons and event scarves to show support. During the evening, survivors are celebrated and stories of triumph are shared. All proceeds from the event benefit Carolina Breast Friends, Go Jen Go, Presbyterian’s Buddy Kemp Cancer Support Center, and Cindy’s Hope Chest; four local women’s related cancer charities. Bob Hillis, Vice President of Operations, made it to the JumboTron for a second period story highlighting the current healing garden initiatives taking place at the Carolina Breast Friends Pink House. The Healing Garden will provide an outdoor therapeutic, meditative and nourishing environment to encourage peace of mind, body, and spirit. The garden is located on the grounds of the Pink House, a project we renovated for Carolina Breast Friends in 2010.
