JE Dunn’s Denver office opened in 1998 when Denver Public Schools invited us to Program Manage their $305 million construction bond issue. In May 1999, the Colorado Springs-based Hughes/Smith General Contractors became part of the JE Dunn family. Our Colorado Springs team has been building in Colorado since 1955 and officially changed their name to JE Dunn Construction in January 2001. Since 1998, we have relocated more than 26 families to Colorado to provide a stable nucleus for growth and now have nearly 300 employees in the region. Our offices in the Rocky Mountain Region have experienced tremendous growth. In 2006 we put in place over $285 million of work and have over $250 million under contract for 2007. Our way of doing business is a little different from our competitors and helps explain how we have grown to be the 5th largest general contractor along the Front Range and how JE Dunn-Rocky Mountain is strategically poised for continued growth.
