JE Dunn Construction
RJ Griffin & Company-Southeast

Founded in 1985 in Atlanta, Georgia, RJ Griffin & Company's first project was a 5-story medical office building for Northside Hospital in Atlanta. We went back a few years later and vertically expanded the building to 10 stories and Northside Hospital is today one of our largest, repeat clients.

In 1989 we opened our first division office in Charlotte, NC as a first step in our marketing master plan to develop the southeast. Charlotte was our first location choice because it is one of the larger commercial hubs in the southeast and because Charlotte was home to Emmett Sebrell, who at the time was serving as Vice Chairman of McDevitt & Street. A distinguished and successful construction executive, Emmett accepted the challenge to help launch our Charlotte division. Emmett’s contribution is significant in the history of RJ Griffin & Company - we miss him greatly.

Charlotte’s success prompted step two in our master growth plan. We opened our Nashville office in 1994 and the Orlando division began Florida operations in 1998. Over the past few years, these division offices have helped RJ Griffin & Company attain a nearly 600% growth ¿ from a 1995 annual volume of $82 million to our projected 2006 volume of $650 million.

In March of 2000 we came across the opportunity for a third step in our master plan. RJ Griffin & Company was acquired by Dunn Industries of Kansas City, Missouri. As part of the JE Dunn Group, we now possess greater financial strengths, human resource backup and access to the resources of a large, well-established national contractor. With this new partnership we are in a better position than ever to carry out our mission.
