JE Dunn Construction is currently completing construction of a new arena on the MSU campus. Named after alumni John Q. Hammons, this project will provide a much-needed larger indoor venue for its sports program. The facility will feature over 11,000 seats, 22 private suites, 100 loge seats, and 55 "Jack Nicholson courtside seats." Additional features include locker rooms, training rooms, and two high-school length practice courts.
Fan amenities include a Hall of Fame, a team souvenir store, a ticket office, and a 4,500 SF club. Special attention was given during design to the multi-use capability of the arena by means of retractable seats on the west end. By granting this flexibility, 1,300 seats can be retracted thereby allowing for concerts and other special events. In order to allow for future expansion, the arena will include more than 12,000 SF of shell space.
