The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City will occupy a large, centrally located hillside site adjacent to the Liberty Memorial. The Bank will be housed in a limestone-clad tower comprised of 12 office floors above a 2-story base containing its operations facilities and include a 5-level, 925-space parking garage.
The principal architect of the 600,000 SF building is Henry N. Cobb of New York-based Pei Cobb Freed & Partners.
Unique features
- Work with signature architect Pei Cobb Freed & Partners
- Entry pavilion will feature a 3,000 SF exhibit space that will complement nearby attractions such as Liberty Memorial and Union Station
- A new pedestrian pathway will be added near 30th Street linking Main Street and Penn Valley Park.
- First Federal Reserve Bank head office designed and constructed after 9/11 and subject to stricter security requirements
