Southlake Ecoworks Building 1 and 2
Olathe, Kansas
Two new office buildings totaling 134,510 SF: one 2-story and one single-story joined together by a common atrium. The building's exterior is EIFS and precast with glazing. The site features include a plaza area and a lake. Three windmills power the landscape lighting.
Unique features
- Rather than risk the schedule by waiting on improving weather, panels were prepared with EIFS in a climatically controlled warehouse environment then delivered to the site for installation
- Over 50% of the total build materials manufactured within 500 miles of the project, reducing environmental impacts from transportation while supporting local economy.
- On-site recycling program including aluminum, cardboard, paper, steel and other metals.
- All field painting used low VOC paints with LEED criteria acceptable chemical components, providing installer and occupant health and comfort.
