305,125 SF, 6-level, 923-car parking deck was constructed via a structural pre-cast frame with a lightweight concrete topping slab. The 6th floor was added after the completion of the first five and two office buildings.
Unique Features
- The expansion project won first place in the Associated General Contractors 2002 Build Georgia Awards in the under $10 million new construction category.
- The expansion was too large to erect from the ground with a conventional crane and the layout of the existing buildings and site conditions would not allow erection from around the perimeter. A specialized "carry-lift crane" was shipped in from Wisconsin to erect the new elevated level from the top of the existing deck.
