JE Dunn transformed over 640,000 SF of an old hospital into a new, world-class biological and medical research facility dedicated to conducting basic genetic research, attracting top talent from around the world. The project was completed utilizing a fast-track approach, which allowed the Owner to occupy within two years.
Unique features
- Vivarium to house highly specialized research animals with automated watering system to provide drinking water for animals. Ventilated cage racks are provided in animal holding rooms.
- Vivarium with robotic system for washing the animal cages
- State-of-the-art laboratory and research collaboration areas with temperature control rooms, dark rooms, double containment chemical storage rooms, noisy equipment rooms, tissue culture labs and special procedure rooms
- Laboratory waste system that disposes of waste material through a double containment piping system with a monitoring device that detects leaks in the inner pipe
