JE Dunn Construction has completed over $7.9 million in construction, broken out in several phases, for the Midwest Research Institute (MRI) in Kansas City, Missouri. The projects include a 27,200 SF addition of a 3-story research laboratory; 11,000 SF, 2-story laboratory intended for the study of the effects of electro magnetic fields (EMF's) on humans; and a new entrance lobby with extensive modifications to the existing labs and exterior facade.
Unique features
- High-grade finishes, such as stainless steel floors, glass walls, and teflon ceilings
- Replacement of the north facade, construction of a new lobby, and landscaping were key components of the project
- Awarded the 1999 AIA Central States Merit Award
