Parkrose High School Community Center

222,000 SF, 2-story remodel of an existing building in Portland, Oregon. Interior features include an auditorium, library, and kitchen that accommodates 1,300 students.
Unique features:
- Students were on site during the construction of this complex, phased project, continuing their regular activities in existing school buildings.
- Houses a branch of the Multnomah County Library, community meeting rooms, a police station and a health clinic in addition to the high school facility, which includes classrooms, a gym, a swimming pool and a state-of-the art theater.
- This fast-track project had four main phases and was bid out in 20 bid packages to maintain the 24-month construction schedule.
Project Highlights:
- 1998 - Parkrose High School Community Center - voted by the Masonry and Ceramic Tile Institute of Oregon for "Meritorious Achievement in Craftsmanship".
- 1998 - Parkrose High School Community Center - AIA citation award in recognition of excellence in design and construction.
