Two Rivers Correctional Facility
Umatilla, Oregon
The Two Rivers Correctional Institution is a 579,000-sf facility sited on 280-acres in Umatilla, Oregon which house up to 1632 inmates. Work also included all "inside" and "outside" the fence support facilities.
The structural system is pre-cast and cast-in-place concrete structure.
Unique features:
- Created a series of self-sufficient housing units for the decentralized facility.
- A new, high-tech electronic perimeter surveillance system was installed rather than the typical prison observation towers.
- Video teleconferencing system was installed in lieu of traditional visitor centers.
- Energy conservation methods were utilized, like the unique vacuum sewer system that reduces energy and maintenance costs.
- Designed & constructed to a LEED Level - Designed through SEED Process
