State of Oregon Central Computer Facility

Salem, Oregon

The state of Oregon's Central Computer Facility consolidates 12 satellite facilities into one location, representing approximately 70 percent of the state's entire data center capacity. A fast-track, design-build project, the 45,000-sf, $18.5 million structure was designed, permitted and built in just 12 months.

The Central Computer Facility was designed and constructed to meet Tier III Data Center classification for reliability, serviceability and availability, and requires a secure site with mechanical and electrical redundancy.

The building is comprised of tilt-up panels and structural steel. The exterior skin is a combination of metal siding, an aluminum window system with highly efficient glazing, and sunscreens. The facility is expected to meet State Energy Efficient design and U.S. Green Building Council Silver LEED requirements.

The Daily Journal of Commerce awarded the Central Computer Facility one of its Top Projects for 2005.
