The Columbia Center is a 388,000 SF, 2-story computer center, which serves as the hub of computer activity for Oregon's largest bank. The structural system is steel frame. The exterior is a combination of precast concrete, curtain wall/aluminum window and an "Alucobond-type" panel.
Unique features:
- The steel frame building is 2.6 times seismic Zone 2 requirements; non-critical items meet Zone 4 requirements.
- Emergency fuel and water system which can run four 1,750 kW generators for four days in case of emergency.
- Bulletproof Kevlar panels protect the computer system.
