Senior Estimator - Self Perform (MW6007)
Location: KC Area, Mo & KS
Opportunity:
Prepare cost estimates for construction proposals to bid on or determine the price of construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Accurate takeoff/quantity survey for concrete/pre-cast erection/masonry/carpentry work. Be able to document takeoff for supervisor review.
- Submit list of materials to Logistic Center for pricing
- Prepare MC2 estimates for review/final pricing by A.V.P./Self Perform estimating
- Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to submit bids for specific project requirements
- Review front-end documents for bidding requirements such as tax exemption, MBE/WBE, Bid Bonds, etc.
- Attend pre-bid meetings
- Coordinate review/input of Construction Division managers and job supervision
- Follow the Construction Division Pre-Bid SOP
- Prepare bid forms and/or clarification memo for proposals
- Be capable of estimating more than one project at a time.
- Be capable of preparing thorough conceptual estimates as well as hard bid estimates.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must Have:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction or related field.
- Five to ten years estimating and/or project management experience in commercial construction.
- Must have detailed concrete, masonry, pre-cast, rough-finish carpentry estimating experience.
- Must communicate effectively and work well with others.
Should Have:
- Good computer and computer aided scheduling skills (Excel, Word, Primavira, MC2).
- Knowledge of on-screen quantity take-offs.
