Through a national MATOC with the United States Army Corp of Engineers, the JE Dunn + HWA National Healthcare Design-Build team constructed a 55,615 square foot, two-story dental clinic on Lackland Air Force Base. The new MacKown Dental Clinic enhances dental care and training programs. The project consisted of hazardous abatement and demolition of four existing structures, site utilities, and grading on a 10-acre site. The former dental clinic was demolished. Almost twice the size of the current facility, the new clinic has 55,615 square feet of space, an open plan with extensive daylighting and a greater number of dental treatment rooms.
