The Lanesfield School operated as a 1-room schoolhouse from 1869 to 1963. Following its closure, the limestone structure fell into a state of disrepair. In 2008, Dunn Project Solutions® (DPS) renovated the old school to historically accurate levels.
Work included replacement of about 300 stones, re-tuck pointing of the entire structure, replacement of windows, a new wood roof, replacement of rotten wood, new gutters, and painting of the exterior wood on the eaves, bell tower and door.
