Completion: 2008
In 2000, JE Dunn completed the first phase of a multi-phase project for Terwilliger Plaza. The first phase included demolition of an existing 3-story concrete building and 2-story parking garage. A new building was constructed housing 44 assisted living units on four floors above the parking area. A new kitchen, dining facilities, and a lobby/reception area was also included.
Phase 2 was completed in 2008. Known as The Heights, this 10-story building consists of 48 units and parking. An exercise pool, therapy pool, fitness room, bistro, and lounge is also included.
The Heights is highly energy efficient. It uses an estimated 20 - 25% less energy than similar buildings. Sustainable features include energy-saving elevators, a centralized high-efficiency heating and cooling plant, low voltage lighting, and a heat recovery system for the indoor pools which captures heat that would otherwise be lost in the ventilation cycle.
