The El Paso County Jail project in Colorado Springs included over 180,000 SF of new construction and 46,000 SF of remodeling. New construction added 864 minimum security beds in 12 wards to the existing capacity.
The new 6-story housing tower was connected to the north end of the criminal justice center detection facility. The medical, food services, laundry, intake/release, storage and administrative areas were expanded to meet the additional inmate housing.
