The Chillicothe Correctional Center is a 1,636-bed women's medium and maximum security campus facility. It consists of 14 buildings on a 55-acre site and, at the time of its completion, was the largest design-build project undertaken by the State of Missouri. It tripled the capacity of the old facility that was built in 1887.
Chillicothe Correctional Center is also one of the State's most energy efficient facilities. High efficiency boilers and state-of-the-art HVAC controls support the State's desire for an energy efficient system. A particularly unique feature is the above-ground central utility loop, designed for quick and easy maintenance.
