The H&R Block building is a commercial office anchor in downtown Kansas City. The 18-story office is headquarters for the world's largest tax preparation business.
The unique elliptical-shaped building is served by an equally impressive 5-level underground garage. Designed in a reverse "L-shape", the garage provides space for 1,050 cars. The underground structure is constructed of a combination of precast and poured-in-place concrete. In order to provide stability, the cribbing and lagging retention systems are 70' deep.
Resting atop the vertical leg of the garage is a 3-story, low-rise office building.
