The South Campus Vivarium involved the renovation of an existing warehouse building into an animal research facility with four housing and procedure suites to contain 60,000 mice. The project also included a cagewash area. Additionally, a new 2-story mechanical addition and second level intersitial space was included.
Complex mechanical systems and laboratory equipment was installed. To ensure quality, pre-installation meetings were held with MEP subcontractors. During commissioning, MEP subcontractors, the engineer, owner, and test and balance agents attended twice-weekly meetings to stay in close communication regarding design issues and punchlist items.
