Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Building
College Station, TX
Client: Texas A&M University
Architect: Perkins + Will
Size: 240,000 SF
Completion: 2008
The Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Building provides classroom, auditorium, and office space. In addition, the building includes modular laboratories and research offices to support chemical, biological, and computational work.
Laboratory and lab support facilities utilize modular casework to permit reconfiguration based on evolving research directions.
For sustainability purposes, the building design required the reevaluation of University laboratory standards for fume hood performance and design, central plant design, process water reclamation, and the use of day-lighting in a laboratory setting.
