In 2004, demolition and relocation of the existing entrance canopy began on the Dakota Sioux Casino in preparation for the addition of a new 5-story hotel. The hotel offers 92 guest rooms and features custom lobby tile with the tribe logo and names of the seven tribe sects.
In 2006, a new single-story casino was completed. The structure included a mechanical mezzanine, temporary walkway and shell space. The gaming area included an underfloor ventilation system. The building also included a new lounge, kitchen, deli, employee dining, arcade, and gift shop.
