The event, sponsored by Midwest Christian Counseling Center, was attended by 400 people. Four Kansas City area individuals and businesses received the award. JE Dunn Construction was recognized for its long and strong record of giving back to the community, its strong code of ethics, and reputation for fair business dealings.
JE Dunn was also commended for its reputation for developing employment for minorities and women in the construction industry.
In 2006, JE Dunn kicked off its Minority Contractors Business Development Program which aims to partner less advantaged minority subcontractors with more experienced business professionals. The program's intent is to guide, teach and hone basic business management skills thereby assisting less advantaged firms with their potential to succeed in the construction industry.
"As a small business owner, participating in this program afforded me the opportunity to step back and examine my own business practices and procedures. It has been an excellent opportunity to seek the advise of others and share knowledge in areas of business all entrepreneurs deal with", said Howard Johnson III, CEO of Johnson 3 Consulting LLC. Johnson was a graduate of the 2006 - 2007 program. » Back to Press and News Archive |
