JE Dunn Construction is set to top out on The Heights, a new addition to the Terwilliger Plaza retirement facility, in downtown Portland. The 143,000-sf, 10-floor, wing will add 48 units, an exercise pool and hot tub, a fitness room, a bistro and a lounge to the complex. The crew will pour the last half of the concrete roof on Wednesday December 19th, officially topping out the structure. On Friday December 21st JE Dunn Construction will hold a celebration for all the team members that have been involved.

The Heights at Terwilliger Plaza will also be one of the most energy-efficient senior housing projects in the Pacific Northwest. Overall the building will use 20-25% less energy than similar buildings.

"It is great to see the project reach this monument. The building has been challenging due to site constraints, topography, and aggressive schedule. The Owner and design team have been great to work with and we appreciate the level of team work that has been maintained through the design and construction process. When the building is completed next summer, it is going to be a very nice addition to the Terwilliger campus. We are very proud to have Terwilliger Plaza as a repeat client and it is rewarding to be a part of the growth of this tremendous organization," said Project Manager Brian Oylear about the project.

This is the second project JE Dunn Construction and BOORA Architects, Inc. has done for Terwilliger Plaza. They also teamed up for the Terwilliger Plaza Retirement Facility Remodel and Terwilliger Terrace Assisted Living Addition that completed in 2000.

JE Dunn Construction NW has offices in Portland, Seattle and Phoenix and is part of the JE Dunn Construction Group. The JE Dunn Construction Group is the 5th largest general building contractor in the nation according to industry publication Engineering News-Record.
