Building Success Through Support and Education

JE Dunn offers a number of opportunties to further the advancement of minority business enterprises. From networking to business exposure events, JE Dunn actively seeks to further the involvement of MBE/WBE in the construction industry. One of our most successful programs, the Minority Contractor Business Development Program, serves to develop and hone business skills enabling minority firms to effectively compete in the marketplace.

Minority Contractor Business Development Program

MCBDP

The Minority Contractor Business Development Program (MCBD Program) was launched in 2005 in Kansas City and is currently being implemented at a number of JE Dunn locations across the country.  This program consists of MBE and WBE contractor companies selected through an application and interview process.  Selection criteria include industry experience, size of company, and current conditions.

During the two-year program, participants attend classes facilitated by JE Dunn on a monthly basis, providing them with a full curriculum of topics ranging from estimating to policies and procedures.  The purpose of this program is to build business development skills so that M/WBE contractors can compete with non-minority contractors in the construction industry.  It is also the goal of the program to provide these companies with the tools to participate on JE Dunn projects.  Additionally, participants are paired with an experienced mentor to offer further support and resources outside of the classroom.

The MCBD Program is free of charge to selected M/WBE companies.
