building perfection

The Dunn Difference

In Pursuit of Building Perfection®

By definition, perfection is unattainable but by its very nature worth pursuing. Since our founding in 1924, JE Dunn has pursued perfection in our buildings, our relationships and our conduct across the countless communities in which we live and work. It's something we aspire to on a daily basis through our use of technology, project-specific initiatives and attention to the world around us. How we strive to reach this lofty goal is what sets us apart, it's what makes JE Dunn Construction different.

Dunn Right ® - Raising The Bar On QA/QC

Dunn RightDunn-Right, JE Dunn's enhanced quality assurance/quality control program, has raised the bar on tradition. Most contractors offer some degree of QA/QC, but none parallel the level of Dunn-Right. This program retains the same QA/QC fundamentals that have served JE Dunn with great success since 1924 while adding key elements to provide our clients with the highest quality projects.

Responsibility at the jobsite level

At the foundation of Dunn-Right, the Project Manager and Superintendent hold primary responsibility for quality on each project while the QA/QC Department serves as a resource in making sound, quality decisions and directing the implementation of many QA/QC strategies:

  • The use of physical and virtual mock-ups through the use of Building Information Modeling confirms constructability and identifies potential quality issues

  • Mandatory and comprehensive quality training for all project personnel on a regular, frequent basis

  • Development and implementation of project-specific quality control plans on each project

  • Maintenance of a comprehensive reference library of codes and standards

  • Documentation of lessons learned through the years, captured and occupying an extensive database that is accessible by all project personnel

  • Overseeing an unparalleled peer review process that provides checks and balances

  • Testing and inspections that confirm specified quality levels
